Discharge DevicesFoam Maker Data sheetBuckeye Foam makers are designed to be an air-aspirating discharge device used primarily for the protection of the seal area of open top floating roof tanks and dike areas around tanks. The foam maker incorporates a mixing barrel, an orifice plate (sized for the required flow at a given pressure) and an air inlet. The foam maker is normally installed in the line of a semi-fixed or fixed foam fire protection system. Foam chambers Data sheetThe Buckeye Foam Chamber consists of a foam expansion chamber and an integral foam maker. The foam chamber is installed on a flammable liquid storage tank just below the roof joint. The foam solution is piped to the Chamber from outside the hazard. Upon entering the chamber, the foam solution is expanded and then discharged against a deflector inside the storage tank. The deflector directs the foam against the inside wall of the storage tank. This reduces the submergence of the foam and agitation of the fuel surface. (N.F.P.A. Type II Application.) Nozzles /Monitors Data sheetBuckeye offers a series of industrial monitors which are available in all brass construction and as a result are inherently corrosion resistant. Vanes are provided at each elbow to reduce friction loss, thereby improving range of the stream. These monitors can be used with either water or foam solutions. Positive locking of the vertical travel is provided with a brake band. Horizontal rotation is 360, while vertical travel is 150. Two models are provided, one with a full 3" (76mm) waterway, the other with a 4"(100mm) waterway. Each unit has a red epoxy paint finish. |

The Kitchen Mister Shielded Cable Interface is used to connect Buckeye Shielded Cable to any standard ½ inch conduit connection device. The use of Buckeye Shielded Cable instead of conduit and corner pulleys for connecting the gas valve, remote pull station, and fusible link line to the Systems Releasing Module reduces installation time by up to 50%.
All five (5) Kitchen Mister nozzles come equipped with a color identification band, red, blue, green, white and yellow. This allows for easy identification of the nozzle even when it's installed in difficult locations such as a duct or plenum area. The nozzle is also stamped with its model number.More Articles ...
